First Round of Competition Begins Tonight for Miss LA Contestants

The first round of competition in the Miss Louisiana Pageant begins tonight.

It’s pageant week in Monroe, and the 32 young women vying for the crown of Miss Louisiana are keeping busy. It’s not quite summer camp, but some may feel that way as they manage their sleep, stay fit and learn the dance steps they’ll perform Saturday night.

This is a preliminary to the Miss America Pageant to be held in January. This is the largest scholarship pageant for young women in the world.

All of these women are hoping to succeed Jaden Leach of West Monroe, Miss Louisiana 2013. You can see the pageant right here on KLAX-TV Saturday night from 8 to 10.
