Drug Arrests in Vernon Parish

VPSO Press Release – Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office announces recent arrests made by the Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force.
Andrew Maricle, age 24, was arrested on January 6, 2015 by Agents from the Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force.
The arrest is a result of a traffic stop in which Maricle was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics.
Maricle was arrested and booked into the Vernon Parish Jail on one count of Speeding and one count of Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) with the Intent to Distribute. Bond was set at $ 20,289.50. Maricle posted bond and was released.

On January 14, 2015 Officers with the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole contacted Agents with the Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force and advised that the probation officers had located narcotics during the course of a routine search of the residence of Jimmy Prestridge in the area of Brush Creek Road in Hornbeck.
Agents responded to the scene and Jimmy C. Prestridge, age 38, was arrested and booked into the Vernon Parish Jail on one count of Possession of Marijuana, one count of Possession of Schedule III Narcotics, and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $ 22,000.00. Prestridge remains in custody on a probation hold.

Derrick Moore, age 38, of Leesville was arrested on January 15, 2015 by Agents of the Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force.
The arrest is the result of an investigation into the Distribution of Crack Cocaine.
Moore was arrested and charged with one count of Distribution of Crack Cocaine. Bond was set at $ 15,000.00. Moore remains in the Vernon Parish Jail with a probation hold.
