“Drive Sober” Campaign Runs Through Labor Day

The 2016 “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign started on August 19th and will run through Labor Day. More law enforcement deputies will be on patrol during the next couple of weeks participating in this campaign.

According to AAA, Labor Day travel is projected to be up one percent over last year.

There were 351 crashes in Louisiana during last year’s Labor Day holiday, which resulted in seven deaths and 581 injuries.

This increased enforcement is funded by a grant through the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission and the National Traffic Safety Administration.
