Downtown Bicycle Patrol Catches Burglar

On Saturday afternoon, Alexandria Police arrested 53-year-old James B. Davenport, listed address as “homeless” in Alexandria.  He is charged with Simple Burglary.

Alexandria PD were patrolling the downtown area on bicycles and observed Davenport hiding in the area of parked cars. When the officers investigated they determined that Davenport had burglarized a vehicle in the area – taking electronics.

Davenport was arrested, booked into the Rapides Parish Jail. The contents of the vehicle were returned to the owner/victim. Davenport remains in jail with bond set at ,500. This was Davenport’s 19th booking in the Rapides Parish Jail.
