Deputies Solve Car Theft Crime

Rapides Deputies say they have solved a home burglary and vehicle theft crime. They have arrested 26-year-old Michael Blake Johnson of Deville.

Press Release – On January 11th, 2015, deputies responded to the 300 block of Elmus Paul Road in Deville in reference to a residential burglary and the theft of vehicle.  Deputies developed information that lead them to identify a suspect of the vehicle theft as Michael Blake Johnson.  Deputies tracked Johnson down to a local hospital still in possession of the vehicle and arrested him for 1 count Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and numerous outstanding warrants from other agencies.

Johnson was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was held without bond.

Tioga Detectives were assigned the burglary case and their investigation into the burglary also lead them to Johnson.  Detectives were able to obtain enough evidence to secure an arrest warrant for Johnson for 1 count of Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling, 1 count Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and Resisting an Officer.  Johnson was rearrested in the jail where he remains on a $50,500.00 bond on RPSO charges.
