CVB Hosts Lt. Gov. at Tourism Luncheon

May is National Tourism Month. Yesterday, the Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted their Annual Tourism Awareness and Awards Luncheon with special guest, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser.

Alexandria is one stop on a statewide tour for the lieutenant governor. Nungesser is traveling on a mini coach wrapped in Louisiana Travel’s latest tourism campaign and statistics celebrating National Tourism Week. The purpose of the tour is to create awareness about the tourism industry, and the impact it has on the state.

Tourism is a $10.7 billion industry in Louisiana, and the hospitality industry employs one in 10 Louisianians.
