Construction Begins on LA 1233 in Winn Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that on Monday, site September 9, pharm 2013, construction will begin on LA 1233 in Winn Parish. This work will begin at the intersection of LA 156 and LA 1233 then proceed approximately 10 miles ending at the intersection of LA 126 and LA 1233. The intent of this project is to stabilize existing roadway and base material with in-place cement treated base (12” Thick). The roadway will then be overlayed with two layers of superpave asphaltic concrete. Associated work includes placing aggregate surface course on shoulders, work on various drainage structures, pavement striping, and replacing existing mailboxes.
The contractor will be required to maintain thru traffic at all times, but periodic lane closures and delays can be expected. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC in the amount of $3,522,693.14. The work associated with this project should take approximately 5 months to complete.
Permit/Detour section
Thru traffic will be maintained so there will be no detour routes for this project or width restrictions.
