The City of Alexandria has many ways to stay connected empowering citizens to act and interact and connecting just got easier with new two new tools for your convenience. New services like the Emergency Notification System, AlexConnects online, the AlexConnects mobile app, and the Mayors Office Facebook page help citizens stay current with City issues and have easy access to City services, events and news.
Emergency Notification System (ENS)
Sign up to Receive Emergency Information from the City of Alexandria! Emergency Notification System (ENS) is a mass notification system designed to keep Alexandria residents and businesses informed during emergencies. By registering with ENS, time-sensitive voice messages from the City of Alexandria may be sent to your home, cell or business phone. Text messages may also be sent to cell phones, e-mails and hearing-impaired receiving devices. By submitting your contact information, you will be kept informed of emergencies affecting your community.
Every landline telephone in the City is already enrolled in the system. We would like to encourage you to also register your mobile devices, email address, and /or hearing impaired receiving devices to ensure we have your information. This will assist us in communicating critical emergency-related information to you in a timely manner.
Registration is fast and easy. To sign-up for the Emergency Notification System (ENS) online, please register at the ENS Self Registration Portal website at https://cityofalexandriapd.onthealert.com. Contact Sgt. Lillie Evans at APD, 318-441-6433 for any questions or assistance during the registration process. The Self Registration Portal is only available to Alexandria residents.
