Christopher-Bogaczova to present recital at NSU
class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-36016″ style=”margin: 2px 4px;” alt=”Paul-Christopher” src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Paul-Christopher.jpg” width=”250″ height=”309″ />NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University faculty Paul Christopher, cello, and Elena Bogaczova, piano, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 7 at Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts Recital Hall.
The program will include new music (1990-2013) by Louisiana composers for solo cello and for cello and piano. Composers featured will be Al Benner, LSMSA faculty; Joshua Carver, Dinos Constantinides (Louisiana State University faculty; Kevin George, Delgado Community College faculty; Rebecca Gillian, retired from BRCC; Jennifer Mitchell and Michael Mitchell. Four of the works were written for and premiered by the performers.
Christopher is associate professor of low strings and music theory at Northwestern State. He received his bachelor of music education from the New England Conservatory of Music and his master of music in cello performance from the University of Memphis.
Bogaczova, originally from the Czech Republic, comes from a family of professional musicians. She currently serves as an Instructor of class piano and staff accompanist at Northwestern State.
