Chamber Hosts Brig. Gen. William Hickman at Luncheon

The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce has a long and rich history with Fort Polk.  Today, the Commanding General is hosted by the Chamber for a special luncheon.

The General is also Commander of the Joint Readiness Training Center.  He describes the ongoing exercises at Fort Polk, how the Chamber’s efforts to provide hospitality for the soldiers and their families are important, and looks ahead to the historic army posts future.

The Chamber has a program to offer incentives and discounts for military families at some retail stores that are Chamber members.  This is part of a compact signed by the Chamber, the Governor and Fort Polk officials.  Also, the Chamber reaches out to Fort Polk through its Military Affairs Committee.
