Central LA to Celebrate Memorial Day

Memorial Day Weekend is also a time to remember our veterans who have passed. Here’s a list of events in our area.

The National Cemetery Program in Pineville is a program of music, readings and an address by marine veteran and state representative Chris Hazel. That’s happening Monday at 9:45.

Also Monday, a traditional ceremony honoring the 61 Grant Parish men who have lost their lives in battle. That begins at 10 at Memorial Plaza in Pollock.

After all the area ceremonies, military personnel can enjoy a free Memorial Day buffet at Paragon Casino Resort.

And remember, many businesses and institutions are closed Monday, including some schools that otherwise might be open.
