Nominations will be taken to choose the 2015 Race Honoree

Each year Susan G. Komen recognizes a local Survivor who has shown tremendous strength and courage through their journey with breast cancer as well as support the local efforts of Komen and its mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people and ensuring quality care for all.

The public may nominate a breast cancer survivor(s) from the Central Louisiana area by completing the nomination form found on our website at www.komenacadiana.org.  Please let us know the special attributes your nominee has shown throughout his/her journey and how she/he has made a positive impact in the community.

The Race for the Cure Committee will appoint a special taskforce to review the applications and choose a Survivor Honoree to serve as the official Race for the Cure Honoree for the 2015 CenLa Race to be held, Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Downtown Alexandria. 

The Race for the Cure series is the signature fundraising event for Komen Acadiana.  The funds raised through the Race and any other fundraisers throughout the year provide education, screening, treatment support and Research to find the Cures.  Fundraising efforts during the Race Season are essential to the success of Race and the ability to provide much needed financial support to local non-profit breast health programs.
