Cenla Chamber Presents Congressional Candidate Forum in Alexandria

14 men are signed up to run for the District 5 seat in Congress in October.

11 candidates showed up this morning for their first forum, sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce.  Some in the group are well known, while others aren’t as familiar.  A few even live outside the district.

The chamber quickly scheduled this forum to replace a speech by retiring Congressman Rodney Alexander, who let them know he would not attend.

More than a hundred came today to hear from the candidates.  Each was given a chance to tell something about himself and state his platform.

The primary is October 19th, and if there’s a run-off, it will be November 16th.
