Cavanaugh Lecture Series featuring Poet Jack Bedell

ALEXANDRIA, health LA –LSU Alexandria, buy in conjunction with the Rapides Parish Library, treat is featuring poet Jack Bedell as the second speaker in this fall’s Cavanaugh Lecture series.

Bedell will be reading from his collected works, including his most recent collection of poetry, Bone-Hollow True, at the Westside Regional Library on Saturday, October 26, at 2:00pm.

Bedell has authored five books of poetry and won several awards, including the Governor’s Award for Artist of the Year in 2007 and the Texas Chapbook Award in 1998.  He has also been a finalist for the Sewanee Writers’ Conference Fellowships, a finalist in the contest for the Paterson Book Award, and has twice been one of three finalists for the Poet Laureateship of Louisiana.

The reading is free and open to the public.  Bedell will be available for questions and comments and will have copies of his newest book for sale.
