Catholic church honors St. Joseph

class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-43263″ src=”” alt=”stjoseph” width=”500″ height=”264″ />Tomorrow in the Catholic Church is the feast of the patron saint of Italy, Joseph. However, today there are Saint Joseph’s altars throughout the world, including here at Saint Rita church.

The altar is loaded with beautiful food, especially breads and cakes in the shape of lambs. The food is to be distributed to the needy. The altar is a symbol of thanks to Saint Joseph for preventing a famine in Sicily during the middle ages.
