Bourbon, Beer & BBQ will feature a feast for the palate! Mouth-watering pulled-pork and chicken BBQ, along with fresh vegetables from Inglewood Farm, will be prepared by several competitors from the 2013 AlexRiverFête BBQ Cook-Off. Guests will be able to sample bourbon, seasonal spirits and the best of Louisiana’s Abita brews provided by Glazer’s distributors and served up by employees of Finnegan’s Wake pub.
Reverend Charley’s Patent Medicine Show, an acoustic, folk/bluegrass band from Central Louisiana, will entertain the crowd with live music. Guests will be able to tour AMoA’s exhibitions, including Unraveling Time, Creating Space, a collection of contemporary native art; Stewart Nachmias: Pulp Icons, vibrant artwork created from paper pulp; Shattering Barriers by The Muse, AMoA’s Teen Club; and Artist Among Us: Faculty & Friends, sponsored by The Martin Foundation and showcasing works by Central Louisiana residents.
Guests can also try their luck with the Museum’s 50/50 raffle. Tickets will be sold throughout the evening for $1 each, or 12 tickets for $10. The winner will receive, in cash, half of all funds collected from the raffle and must be present at the time of the drawing.
Proceeds from Bourbon, Beer & BBQ will help support education, community programs, and exhibitions at AMoA.
