Baton Rouge Man Struggles to Get Medical Coverage For His Family

Louisiana Health and Hospitals says it has a safety net to help people who are uninsured in the state.

Rebecca Buchanan spoke with a man who says he can’t find those options.  His bills are piling-up as his health is declining.

The Reeds say they’ve written letters to several state officials, but have yet to receive a response.

Representatives at DHH say if he would have been covered in the Medicaid expansion they should be able to help him.  If not, the problem is in the federal insurance marketplace, and is out of their hands.
