Ball Police Identify Man Killed By Train

PedestrianTrainBall Police identify the man killed yesterday morning when he was hit by a Union Pacific Train.

Police say 19-year-old Arch Youngblood Junior of Pineville was walking with his back to the train and wearing headphones with music loud enough that he never heard the warning whistles from the conductor.

Police say it was an accident, and he should never have been walking on the tracks.  The Chief of Police, Melvin O. Williams, would like to remind the public that it is illegal, as well as dangerous, to walk on railroad tracks.
