Back 2 Business: Less Spending, More Saving

Less Spending

Higher payroll taxes may be starting to take a bigger toll on American workers. Consumer spending cooled off last month and shows the biggest part of our economy lost momentum as the first quarter came to a close.

More Saving Money

Just how many of you think saving money is a priority? Call it lessons from the recession, but a new survey by RetailMeNot. com finds 93 percent of those surveyed say saving money in their everyday life is important.

More than six in 10 say they’re saving  more money by eating out less and buying fewer clothes.

Memorial Day Travel

You may want to book your seat now. New data from Travelocity shows the average domestic round trip flight between May 23rd and 28th will cost $341.

That down two percent from last year. To save money even more money, analysts say you should book your trip ahead of time.

History shows prices tend to go up $10 to $25 each week leading up to Memorial Day. You’ll also save as much as 15 percent leaving on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
