Alexandria attorney Jay Luneau broke the news yesterday. He hopes to win the district 29 seat that sprawls across five parishes. A majority of constituents are in Rapides. This is an open seat with no incumbent, which typically draws more candidates.

Others now being mentioned are Alexandria City Councilman Ed Larvadain III and a Pineville minister, Bishop Joy Dara.

And in an unusual move today, Alexandria City Councilman Roosevelt Johnson called a news conference to say he’s NOT running.
