Attempted Murder Suspect Dies When Police Attempt Arrest

Authorities say 27-year-old Bobby Anderson of Alexandria died yesterday afternoon after an officer-involved shooting at a convenience store on Lee Street.
Alexandria police is conducting the investigation into what happened. For now, they say Anderson was armed and threatened officers as they tried to make the arrest.
A member of the task force fired, and Anderson died at the scene. Officials say they did recover a gun.
The officer involved was NOT a member of APD. The U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of law enforcement from various agencies.
Anderson was also wanted for burglary, forgery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misrepresentation during booking.
Names of the task force members are not disclosed at this time, including the name of the officer who discharged his weapon.
