Attempted Murder Investigation

A 20-year-old Alexandria man who is already in jail on a weapons charge is now linked to an attempted murder case.

Markeal James Lee, Sr. is now charged with the December 19th shooting of a man leaving a store in the 3000 block of Monroe Street in Alexandria.

The victim in that shooting stated that he was coming out of a store on Monroe Street when he heard someone yell “there he is.”  He then heard several gun shots, one striking him in the side.  Authorities say the victim is still recovering from the injury.

Markeal James Lee, Sr. of Alexandria is charged with attempted second degree murder. This case is still under investigation.
