Arrests Made in Armed Robbery

class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-40123″ src=”” alt=”armedrobbery-mugs” width=”400″ height=”296″ />On 9-10-14 the Alexandria Police were dispatched 1700 block of Jackson Street in reference to a disturbance. The officer made contact with a male subject, who later was identified as the victim. The victim told the officer that his brother and another person picked him up from his residence against his will. While in route the victim’s brother started to choke and threaten the victim about giving him money that was owed to the brother, plus he wanted an extra $600. The second suspect then threatened the victim with a tire iron. The victim’s wallet was taken and both suspects left the area.

Franklin Smith and James Mims were identified and located by other family members. The victim’s wallet and money were turned over to the police.  Franklin Smith 24, of Alexandria was charged with armed robbery and a simple arson warrant.  James Mims 24, of Alexandria was charged with armed robbery and a probation violation warrant.

This case is still under investigation.
