Arrest Made in Club Fight

On Saturday morning, May 21st, 2016, at approximately 3:05 am, Deputies responded to reports of a shooting that occurred at the Gentleman’s Sports Club at 1713 Shirley Avenue in Alexandria.

Initial reports indicated there was an altercation between the owner and some patrons of the establishment which lead to the gunfire.  Allegedly, two of the patrons refused to leave the club and a physical altercation occurred between one of the patrons, identified as Gage Derosia, and the club owner.  According to witnesses, after that incident ended, the owner went behind the bar, retrieved a shotgun and confronted Derosia and the other patron to make them leave.  When they both again refused to leave, the club owner allegedly fired a pepper spray round and then a rubber bullet round, striking one of the patrons in the abdomen.  Derosia and the other patron then allegedly attacked owner, taking the shotgun away from him and committing a battery on him.

When Deputies arrived, the club owner and the other patron that was shot were being transported to a local hospital for their injuries.  Derosia was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center for 1 count Remaining After Being Forbidden, Simple Battery, and Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery where he was later released on a $15,750.00 bond.

Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene also responded to conduct their investigation and collect evidence.  Detectives say the investigation is still ongoing and more charges are pending in this incident.
