RPSO – On April 23rd, 2014, deputies from the Deville Sub-station responded to the 100 block of Bert Paul Rd in reference to a burglary of a residence where antiques valued at approximately $10,000 were stolen.
Detectives from the Deville Sub-station as well as Crime Scene detectives also responded. From what detectives discovered, it appeared that the suspects gained entry to the residence by breaking the front door.
Burglary tools were found in the residence and several pieces of antique furniture were taken. During the course of this investigation, detectives were also looking for and located a stolen vehicle in an unrelated case at 629 Bethel Rd. During the recovery of the vehicle, detectives learned the suspect, identified as 35 year-old Obadiah Job Dolejsi of Deville, may have the antiques in his residence. Consent was given and detectives located the antiques inside the residence.
Dolejsi was placed under arrest and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was booked for Possession of Stolen Goods. The antiques were subsequently returned to the victim. Detectives say additional suspects have been identified and more arrests are forthcoming as this investigation continues.
