Area Police Make Large Dent in Drug Fight

Area law enforcement agencies make a big dent in their fight against drugs.  The Natchitoches Drug Task Force takes seven people into custody on a long list of charges.  Agents say those charges stem from a long investigation into drug distribution in the Campti area.

And Alexandria Police arrest three people in a drug round up.  27-year-old Derrick Jefferson, 36-year-old Henry Jefferson Senior and 37-year-old Frank Shavers, all from Jonesville, are accused of selling crack and pills.  Police arrested them after a 3-month investigation.  The street value of what police say was recovered is around 86 thousand dollars.

And Rapides Detectives say they’ve arrested a major meth dealer.  They nabbed 39-year-old Claude Anthony Richey of Dallas last week as he arrived at a local hotel.  He had nine thousand dollars worth of drugs on him.
