Antoon Party Raises Over $10k in Scholarship Money

A crowd of well-wishers gathered July 27 to wish beloved Natchitoches businessman Johnny Antoon a happy 70th birthday during a party that benefited a Northwestern State University scholarship named in his honor.

Antoon, physician a 1968 graduate of Northwestern State, owns Antoon’s Package Liquor Store, opened in 1975, and The Student Body, opened in 1982. Since then, numerous students have helped pay for their college education by working for Antoon.

Last Saturday’s event raised more than $10,000 for the Johnny Antoon Endowed Scholarship, initiated in 2008.
