Annual RiverFete Starts Tomorrow

Starting tomorrow there is a now-annual event in downtown Alexandria called RiverFete, and it embraces three popular traditions along the Red River. Bennett Roland Junior says it’s sure to be fun on land and on the water.

As Bennett mentioned, one of the main attractions are the dragon boats. Teams have been practicing most afternoons this week.

This is the 4th year for the dragon boats, and they raise money for the Alexandria Museum of Art. Around 40 teams will race for prizes.

Tomorrow afternoon the “Awakening of the Dragons” ceremony will be held at the amphitheater.
