Tom Jenkins, 47 years old, of Alexandria, has been arrested for Attempted Second Degree Murder and Contempt of Court.
The victim, Kenneth Hardy, was transported to a hospital and has since been released.
Jenkins is in the Grant Parish Detention Center and bond was set at $250,500.
