Alexandria Man Arrested After Threatening Shop Owner with Handgun

Officers were dispatched to a local convenient store in the 2100 Block of North Mall Drive. The complainant, a store employee, reported that a male subject was seen taking several bottles of Alcohol. The employee also stated when she confronted the subject; he threatened her with a handgun.

The subject was contacted by police in the 2100 Block of Memorial Drive and detained for questioning. The resulting investigation found the subject to be in possession of the stolen alcohol concealed on his person. Subsequently the subject, later identified as Leon Price Sr. was arrested and during a search of his person, Officers found Price to be in possession of a concealed handgun.

Leon Price Sr, 61 of Alexandria was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked on;

1ct-Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
1ct-Aggravated Assault
1ct-Felon in Possession of Firearm
