Alexandria Mall’s “Kids, Inc.” program to be hosted for third year

AlexandriaMallAlexandria, LA—Alexandria Mall is hosting the third year of Kids, Inc., a program to promote retail entrepreneurism among today’s youth.  Kids ranging from six to fifteen-years old are invited to participate in the program.

Winning Kids, Inc. participants will have the opportunity to set up shop at Alexandria Mall to learn about business, make money, and most of all, have fun. Participants may create something from scratch, offer a service or resell a product purchased from a wholesaler.  Businesses are expected to have minimal parental involvement.

To qualify for the in-center event, kids will submit their business plans via Alexandria Mall’s Facebook page by June 15.  Children 12 and under will need a parent or guardian to submit their entry.  The shopping center’s Facebook fans will vote for their favorite business ideas between July 16 – 29. Based on the highest number of votes, ten winners will be invited to a one-day “business showcase” where they can sell their products or services to customers and keep their earnings.

“Alexandria Mall is excited to host the Kids, Inc. program for a third year.” says Missy McKnight Alexandria Mall Marketing Manager. “It is a great experience for both the mall staff and our “merchants of the future” to experience selling products or services in a retail environment.”
