4-Month-Old Metal Theft Case Solved

They’ve arrested 40-year-old Kevin White of Alexandria on theft and trespass charges. Deputies say he’s the one who took items valued at more than ,000 from Security Shredding on Highway 1 North.
He’s also accused of another theft that happened earlier this week. Deputies said they staked out an area where they thought he lived and took him into custody Wednesday.
Reported to be taken was a three point hitch, engine block, radiator shroud, assorted scrap metal, metal rafters, a 5th wheel hook up, along with several other pieces of metal valued at over ,000. This theft happened in January. There was security footage from the incident and after viewing the footage and investigating the matter. Rapides detectives were able to identify Kevin White as a suspect.
On Monday, Rapides Parish deputies responded to 3404 North Bolton Avenue in reference to another theft. Reported to be taken was a hydraulic jack hammer that was valued at ,500. This item was located by detectives at a nearby scrap yard. The hammer was recovered and returned to the owner.
During the investigation Kevin White was identified as a suspect. Warrants were issued for the arrest of White on this case as well.
Detectives staked out the area where White was known to live near and spotted White’s vehicle. He was booked on theft and criminal trespassing charges. White was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he remains.
