3 Arrested in Shooting Case

shootingarrestsOn March 25th, 2016, Deputies responded to a report of a shooting that took place in the 7500 block of US 71 South, Alexandria.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who stated his vehicle was shot multiple times while he was in it.  The victim was not injured.  The victim went on to say he had met 3 unknown black male subjects earlier in the evening at a local bar.  The group then went to another local bar  where later in the evening, an argument allegedly occurred at which time the victim left the bar to avoid any other confrontation.  As the victim is leaving the second location, a light blue Nissan Altima passed him and fired several gunshots at his vehicle.  The victim identified the vehicle as belonging to one of the subjects he had met earlier.

Deputies observed bullet holes in the victims vehicle and put a “be on the lookout” for the suspect vehicle.  Detectives responded to conduct their investigation where they recovered evidence from the scene the supported the victims allegations.  During the investigation, Detectives were able to identify the suspects involved in the shooting as Joseph Wardsworth, Jr. and Marlon Burns of Alexandria and Martavious Taylor of Pineville.

On March 28th, 2016, Detectives located the suspects and took them into custody without incident.  All three suspects were booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center for 1 count Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and 1 count Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.  All three suspects remain in jail on $205,000.00 bonds.
