25th Annual Don’t Die Wondering Classic Golf Scramble
NATCHITOCHES
The event, staged each summer since 1989, will be played at the 18-hole Northwestern Hills golf course on the La. 1 bypass. Co-head coaches Brooke and Scott Stoehr will welcome back legendary retired Lady Demon head coach James Smith, who originated the DDW Classic, “a golf tournament unlike any other.”
Four-person teams may enter, with a 0 per player entry fee that covers greens and golf cart fees, a commemorative cap, lunch and entry in the Foy Motors Hole-in-One Shootout. Individual entries are also welcomed.
Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., with food served on the course along with lunch in the dining room.
Any player who makes the first ace on the par-3, 168-yard 10th hole will win a 2013 vehicle from Foy Motors in Many. Any ace made in the tournament will be rewarded with prizes ranging from golf equipment to trips to resort locations.
Merchandise prizes will be awarded to six different teams with competition in low gross and low net handicap divisions. Closest to the hole contests will be held on all par 3s along with hole-in-one prizes.
Tee sponsorships are also available for supporters who don’t play golf or those who cannot attend.
To enter or for more information, call the Lady Demon basketball office at 318-357-5891, or David Stamey at 357-1262.
