10th Annual La Cuisine de la Louisiane

CuisinedelaLouisianeParagon Casino Resort is proud to host the 10th annual La Cuisine de la Louisiane, a culinary fundraiser to be held in the Mari Showroom on Sunday, July 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This year’s event will serve as a major fundraiser for the American Red Cross of Central Louisiana in Alexandria, Camp Bon Coeur in Lafayette, and the Avoyelles Society for the Developmentally Disabled in Marksville. A $35 ticket donation, 100 percent of which directly benefits the participating non-profits, allows patrons to enjoy a sampling of delectable items prepared by major restaurants throughout the state of Louisiana. Entertainment will be provided by Kip Sonnier.

Sonnier’s musical career started at age 15. Originally a drummer, then a bass player for several years, fate put a six string in his hands that he has yet to put down. In his earliest days he was touring the Texas dance hall circuit with a band called Bayou, a band that included Kip, Trace Adkins and Steve Grisaffe, bass player and lead vocalist from River Road. Someone once said “Success breeds success”, which in this case is true, because Sonnier later found himself in Roundup, a concerted effort that included Mercury recording artist Sammy Kershaw. Sonnier returned home, a veteran of the road, with the talents to prove it.

Tickets are $35 and may be purchased by contacting the American Red Cross, 318-442-6621, Camp Bon Coeur at 337-233-8437 or ASDD at 318-253-6955.
