Zoos Honors Zookeepers This Week

Zoos throughout the U.S. are honoring their zookeepers this week and that includes the Alexandria Zoo.

These men and women care for the animals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Caring for the animals at any zoo is so important — a facility would close without the zookeepers.  They are all trained, and all have their favorites.  The interaction between them and their animals is very important.

If you’d like to work with animals, call the zoo and get more information about pursuing this as a profession, either here in town or at another zoo.
