It’s operated by the Louisiana National Guard at 3 sites, including Camp Beauregard.
The program intervenes when young people drop out of school or display problems. Some 14 hundred cadets graduate each year.
U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu says it’s expected to have full committee approval on Thursday.
