Yarn Bombers Hit Third Street in Downtown Alexandria Sunday

parade-routeThird Street gets “yarn bombed” in preparation for Cenla Chamber of Commerce’s 100th Anniversary Parade. On Sunday, March 9 at 1:30PM, Yarn Bombers will be decorating street lights, electric poles and trees with beautifully knitted wraps, displaying the colors of the Chamber of Commerce’s logo.

The knits will mark the parade route the Chamber, along with city leaders, and a brass band will march on the day of their 100 year celebration, just as the founders did in 1914 to kick of the first Membership Drive. The march will end at the steps of the Hotel Bentley, there they will unveil a historical marker, marking the location of where the Chamber was first founded.
