Yarn Bombers Hit Downtown Alexandria

chamber yarn bombDowntown Alexandria is hit by yarn bombers. The colorful display of yarn is decorating street lights, utility poles and trees. The knitted art displays the Chamber of Commerce’s logo.

This is all to mark the centennial of the chamber, which will have a day-long celebration on Thursday March 27th. A brass band will march on that day just as the founders did in 1914 to kick off their first membership drive.

Then, a historical marker will be unveiled at the Hotel Bentley where the Chamber was founded. More information about the 100th anniversary of the chamber is available by clicking here.
