Voters Approve Property Taxes on Ballot Saturday

Voters were in a giving mood during Saturday’s elections.

Alexandria voters approved a new property tax for recreation and for the Alexandria Zoo.  That vote was 59 to 41 percent in favor.

In addition, the renewal of the property tax for the area detention facility also easily won approval with 72 percent of the vote.
