US Forest Service Conducts Teacher’s Tour

It’s a well-kept secret sometimes –too well kept, in fact.  The number one farm product in Central Louisiana is actually trees.

So, the US Forest Service is conducting what’s called a teacher’s tour.  Their goal is to acquaint classroom teachers with the facets of learning about the forests that surround us in Central Louisiana.  Their hope is for the teachers pass their education to their students.

This is a collaboration between the State Forestry Office and the Louisiana Forestry Association.  Some 38 teachers have participated in the tour this week.
