Urania Man Arrested in Double Homicide Case

A suspect is arrested in LaSalle parish yesterday afternoon on two counts of first-degree murder. The LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Randy Waits of Urania for the murder of two women, Kylie Duncan and Erma Cotton, both of Urania.

Sheriff Scott Franklin explains what happened and what they know.

To make matters worse, the sheriff’s office is waiting for an autopsy report to see if Kylie Duncan was pregnant. If so, the charges against the suspect go from two counts to three counts of capital murder. The district attorney must decide if the suspect will face the death penalty if he is convicted of the crimes.

Authorities say the crimes took place on the 200 block of the Pentecostal Church Road.
