Two Primates Die at Alexandria Zoo

Two cotton-headed Tamarins at the Alexandria Zoo died from the cold weather, and a caretaker is placed on administrative leave.

Zoo officials say negligence caused three primates to be left out in the cold Wednesday, and two died.

The employee has been removed from animal care, and the incident is under investigation.  City official David Gill says the cause of death seems to be due to human error.
