Town of Jena Receives High Accolades
class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-33661″ alt=”JenaHonored” src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/JenaHonored.jpg” width=”500″ height=”279″ />Just over 7 years ago, the town of Jena in LaSalle Parish was the site of the largest civil rights protest in Louisiana history. Tonight, it’s one of three sites being named great places in Louisiana.
The announcement is made by the AARP’s Livable Communities Council, the Center for Planning Excellence, and the Lieutenant Governor’s office. The official award ceremony was held this evening in Baton Rouge, as part of the smart growth summit.
