Chamber Luncheon to Feature 2018 Teacher of the Year Kimberly Eckert
Press Release – Natchitoches, LA, September 27, 2017: The Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce will host its October Luncheon in the banquet room of Lasyone’s Meat Pie Restaurant, located at 622 Second Street in Natchitoches, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
This luncheon will feature a panel of educators including Teacher of the Year 2012 April Giddens of Natchitoches and Teacher of the Year 2018 Kimberley Eckert, of Brusly, Louisiana. Other panelists include Hannah Dietsch, Louisiana’s Assistant Superintendent for Talent, and Ken Champagne, chairman of Dream Teachers. Panelists will provide the audience with first-hand knowledge of the passion and knowledge that educators bring to an often very challenging job and introduce the Dream Teachers organization and highlight its collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Education which annually recognizes the Teacher and Principal of the Year. Additionally, Assistant Superintendent Dietsch will discuss some of the changes BESE and the Department have put into place to help better prepare our educators for the classroom.
Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members. You must register on the Chamber website before end of business October 3, 2017 to attend the event.
