thirdthursdayThird Thursday on Third to bring Visitors Downtown Extended Hours, Fun, Food, Entertainment along Third Street The Downtown Alexandria Merchants Association is celebrating its first ever Third Thursday on Third event this Thursday, January 15, along Third Street in Downtown Alexandria – the event will take place from 6pm to 9pm and involves specials and entertainment in ten businesses located on or adjacent to Third Street.

“There are many people that have not been downtown in many years and our merchants wanted to draw attention to some of the great things that are happening,” says Tobias Wilhelm, president of the Downtown Alexandria Revitalization Effort (DARE). “The City of Alexandria has agreed to leave the Christmas lights in the trees for us a little longer, there is music playing, we have great food, shopping, art and live entertainment in several businesses – Downtown Alexandria is alive and kicking!”

The lineup of businesses and their specials and entertainment is as follows:

• Finnegans Wake (812 Third Street) Todd Whatley and Carla Elaine, starting at 8pm. Try our $4 Lemon Meringue Martinis from 4pm til

• Crave (908 Third Street) Entertainment by Amelia Ryland at 6pm. 1/2 Price Desserts & Hot Beverages

• Embers (313 Desoto Street) Gary Cathey Band live from 6-9. 1/2 Price Appetizer with any Entrée

• The Sandwich Shoppe (912 Third Street) $3 off any Sandwich or Salad
