Talk Increases About High-Speed Train Between Baton Rouge, New Orleans

Ever since Katrina, there’s been talk in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans corridor of a train.

Actually, one existed in the 40’s and 50’s, but then the automobile and the interstate displaced the passenger line. Now, the idea is being revived; Natalia Verdina explains.

In his first gubernatorial term, Bobby Jindal rejected federal funds for a study for a high-speed rail line between the 2 cities. He says residents will not abandon their cars and the money would be wasted.
