Superintendent Speaks at NRBIA Meeting
Superintendent of Schools, Tony Authement, held a briefing on the status of education in Rapides parish at the North Rapides Business and Industry Alliance (NRBIA) meeting today.
A new initiative called “Jump Start” was also mentioned, which is a program designed to provide students with basic and advanced career credentials that will allow them more career options as well as an opportunity to continue their education after high school.
The progress of failing schools in the district was also mentioned. A comprehensive school reform model has been put in place, which Authement says have been very affective across the country and Louisiana.
