Sugar Day Festival

class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-33350″ alt=”KentHouse” src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/KentHouse.jpg” width=”500″ height=”333″ />Saturday, November 9, 2013, the 20th Annual Sugar Day Festival will be held at Kent Plantation House, 3601 Bayou Rapides Road, Alexandria, Louisiana 71303. The hours are from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Admission: $5.00, children six and under are free.

There will be music, food, arts and crafts, demonstrations of activities of the 19th century, Native American Dance, children’s activities, free tours of the House, all while sugar is being made in the 1840’s sugar mill.

A return engagement of Roscoe, Lee and Abadie, specialists of music of the old South, will provide music all during the day. Their motto is “Let’s party like it’s 1859”.
