An economic development summit is held here and features the Louisiana State Treasurer, John Kennedy.
The daylong event is sponsored by Red River Bank. It’s offered to those who want to rev up the economy in Central Louisiana. And a lot of information is being offered also about tax credits. State treasurer John Kennedy talks about how communities can attract investment.
Kennedy is exploring a run for the governor’s post and has not been shy about criticizing the administration of Bobby Jindal. And, lately, Kennedy has been critical of NGOs. These are non-governmental organizations funded by taxpayer dollars.
One of those NGOs that has run into problems is the Natchitoches Boys and Girls Club.
